From Unsolved Mysteries Wiki:
Real Name: Gerardo Gonzalez
Aliases: Cachimba
Wanted For: Questioning in Hit-and-Run, Manslaughter
Missing Since: December 12, 1990
Case
Details: Eleven-year-old Pedro Santiago Jr. was a talented athlete who lived with his family in the Logan Square section of Chicago. On December 12, 1990, he came home from school and called his mother, who was at work. He told her that he was going to go across the street to play with his friend Eric.
At 3 pm, he left his home; while he was crossing the street, he was struck by a car driven by a gang member known as Cachimba. Two teenagers witnessed the incident and went to Pedro's aid. The one ran to call and ambulance, while the second watched as the driver returned to his car and drove away.
Pedro was rushed to the hospital and his parents were soon told of the hit-and-run. They only got to see him for a few seconds before he was taken into the operating room. Tragically, he passed away ten days later as a result of his injuries. Police began searching for Cachimba, but could find few leads.
Pedro's family began searching and found that Cachimba had fled to New York shortly after the accident. He had asked several people for money to help leave the area. Pedro's family still hope that he will be located. Police have not charged Cachimba with manslaughter, but would like to question him about the incident. His real name is Gerardo Gonzalez. He is a Cuban immigrant, 5'8", weighs 160 pounds, and may be living in New York, Florida, Michigan, or Illinois.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on the September 22, 1993 episode.
Results: Wanted

Thoughts? I am placing the search for Gerardo Gonzalez, also known as Cachimba, in the fugitives on TV section since, as noted above, Unsolved Mysteries profiled this case. This is basically like the Unsolved Mysteries version of AMW fugitive Jose Luis Dorantes, where they have the suspect's name in a hit-and-run death investigation, but no photo of him.
It does seem though that unlike the Dorantes case, a lot more was and is known about Cachimba. Unfortunately, despite that, there still isn't justice for Pedro Santiago Jr. even 30 years later. I hope one day that can change despite the very long odds.
Admin Note #1: Based on crime location, our advice for anyone with information on this suspect's whereabouts would be to contact the Cook County Sheriff's Office (Illinois): www.cookcountysheriff.org/
