KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- State police are still trying to identify the person responsible for the shooting death of an 8-year-old King William County boy in January.
Despite pursuing approximately 60 tips over the past month, the Virginia State Police have been unable to pinpoint a suspect.
The King William County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a shooting that had taken place at a residence in the 100 block of Robin Lane just after 11:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.
Witnesses said a male subject entered the residence and began shooting.
Orlando's father and grandmother, who were also inside the residence at the time of the shooting, both escaped injury.
Orlando Anderson Sr. said he was overwhelmed by the turnout for a late January vigil in his son's honor outside the elementary school the boy attended.
“I mean I [didn't] know he touched people like this. I mean the stuff that he loved to do. He loved everybody," Anderson Sr. said.
Police previously said the incident does appear to be an isolated incident. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Richmond Field Office continues to investigate the case, with the help of the King William County Sheriff's Office.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Virginia State Police at 804-553-3445 or #77 on a cell phone or by email at questions@vsp.virginia.gov.

Thoughts? It is an obvious understatement to call it a heartbreaking case and justice cannot come soon enough for Orlando Jr.'s family.
