From the Athens Review:
Six weeks after a teenage girl and her father were murdered in his home, Henderson County sheriff's officials are still looking for the killer.
“We've gotten two tips through Crime Stoppers,” Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said. “And I'm still waiting on some things from the lab.”
On Dec. 10, Beverly McBride, 17, was found on a couch inside her father's residence in the 20000 block of Woodridge West with a gunshot wound to the head. She died at the scene. Her father, Gabriel McBride, 46, was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was airlifted to UT Health in Tyler, where he was pronounced dead on Dec. 11.
Hillhouse has called the shootings “a deliberate act” but that it was not a random crime. On Thursday, he told the Athens Daily Review that he believes the killer is in the area.
A $10,000 Henderson County Crime Stoppers reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction of the suspect. Sheriff's officers are being assisted by the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
Anonymous tips may be provided by calling 1-800-545-TIPS. Or contact the sheriff’s office at 903-675-5128.
