Tips can remain anonymous.The wife of a man wanted for abducting an 8-year-old girl was found shot to death in a Maryland hotel room, police said, and her husband was the culprit. Andrea Denise Tatum, 51, was found Thursday morning in a room at a Red Roof Inn in Prince George's County after an Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for the girl, Relisha Tenau Rudd — who hasn’t been seen since Feb. 26. Kahlil Malik Tatum, 51, is believed to have kidnapped the girl and killed his wife. The Prince George's County Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for the man, who worked as a janitor at the Washington, D.C. shelter where the girl's mother lived. Police say they believe Relisha — who stands about 4 feet tall and weighs approximately 70 pounds — is with the suspected killer. A white 1976 GMC truck that police said they believed Tatum was driving was found Thursday evening in nearby Hyattsville, Md., but cops were still searching for the man and the missing girl. Police said they were notified of the missing girl after Payne Elementary School officials told them Relisha was absent for a couple of weeks. Her mother, Shamika Rudd, refused to fill out a missing persons report, according to WRC-TV. Relatives said the mother told them several stories to explain why the girl was gone. One of Tatum’s neighbors told the news station that she saw a little girl who looked like Relisha leaving the man’s home Saturday. “She didn’t look to be in any danger, so I just came on in the house and left,” said the neighbor, Nicole Wilson. “I didn’t think nothing of it.” Police urge anyone with information to call the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099. Obviously this breaking news case seems like Adam Mayes and James DiMaggio all over again and this is a very disturbing and scary trend. Tatum more than any other fugitive needs to be a quick capture because there is a missing child involved. Let's catch him before he can harm Relisha.

Hopefully Relisha Rudd is found safe and sound as soon as possible. With all these murderous fugitives also wanted for child abduction recently, AMW fugitives Avelino Alvarado and Leandro Jimenez need threads someday.

The FBI has released surveillance video that shows a little girl believed to be Relisha Rudd with Khalil Tatum. The footage is from a Washington DC hotel on February 26th of this year, the day Rudd went missing. Also, apparently the wife Tatum allegedly killed was NOT the mother of Relisha. The article quotes Relisha's mother, who is desperate to have her back. Relisha returned to the school, saying she was sick. Relisha's mother signed a doctor's note from Khalil. School officials then got suspicious when they were told by Khalil to drop off forms at a homeless shelter, but they didn't find anyone who went by "Doctor Tatum". Sources also say that Relisha's mother also refused to sign papers stating that her daughter was missing.

Crazy. I honestly thought Tatum was a candidate for the top 10 list as a breaking news fugitive but they've now filled that slot (not complaining as because Tatum is newer, there is a better chance of catching him without needing it).
Thank goodness the school was alert enough to realize not everything matched up.

A missing body has been found in a DC Park- but it may be of Khalil Tatum and not Relisha Rudd. A deceased male was discovered but no sign of Relisha. I think this is a unique case where you have to root for the body to actually not be the fugitive. As if Tatum is dead, this unfortunately doesn't bode well for Relisha. If it is Tatum, you just have to hope against all hope he gave Relisha away before killing himself. Since it seems almost certain Khalil Tatum is dead but Relisha Rudd is still missing- I have moved this case to the Non-AMW Missing and changed the topic title. I hope he gave her away and she can still be found.

As much as I wish that Relisha is still alive, I believe she's probably dead sadly. If she was still alive, then why would Tatum kill himself?

Sadly I believe you're probably right but once again it's about hope. I admit it doesn't look too good, we just pretty much have to hope Tatum gave her away and she can still be located.
