Torin Smith was arrested in 2017 on allegations of child sex assault. Prior to his arrest, Smith worked at Lake George-based Community Fellowship of Christians, ran a Christian retreat in Florissant called Praise Mountain Ministries, and led a home-school group involving dozens of young students. He was scheduled to appear at a motions hearing Monday. Smith's wife, Rena, was recently found guilty of witness tampering and child abuse. Court documents say she sent emails to one of her husband's alleged victims, offering her counseling and prayer -- and telling her to drop the charges. She was supposed to appear in court Tuesday for sentencing. A judge has issued warrants for the couple's arrest after both were no-shows at their respective court appearances. According to articles, court documents list SIX alleged child victims of Torin Smith's over a period of years. And Rena Smith is not accused of molestation, but as the article stated, was accused of witness tampering and child abuse. In my opinion, this is like a couple version of the Victor Barnard case. It seems they are unfortunately still at large at the time of this posting (1/16/2019) since this is a breaking news case, but I hope it doesn't take as long as it did to catch Barnard. Admin Note #1: According to a local news station's Facebook posting, anyone with information on Torin and/or Rena Smith's whereabouts is asked to call the Park County (Colorado) Sheriff's Office at (719) 836-2494

Want to thank our forum reader who sent us an email with their theories on possible whereabouts (these are only their feelings of what they feel should be looked into and nothing like a specific address or anything that would give too much away so I feel it is ok to post this):
"If I were looking for Torin I would consider the following places. Anywhere really cold and rural, such as the backwoods of Colorado, Montana, Alaska and even Canada. I would also consider the Amish communities because I don't think they keep up with any news and also because Torin is from a religious strict background and could fit right in. He also looks Amish with his full beard, and after seeing pics of Rena it looks like she is conservative enough to fit right in as well. P.S. He was raised in Hesperia California and may still have relatives there he could stay with.

Torin & Rena are apparently still at large as of this update- October 15th, 2019- since I haven't seen any new articles or updates- just wanted to state I found a page on Torin Smith which has him as AKA Torin Macduff. Also listed in some public directory websites. So it is possible MacDuff may be a middle or possible alternative last name which he theoretically he could be using as an alias on the run and I figure this is perhaps somewhat helpful. I normally don't like posting mylife.com or mugshots.com links as they are sometimes scam sites with inaccurate information where you have to pay a fee for removing false and/or damaging info, both sites have been sued, but sometimes they do provide useful in other aspects if they're somewhat accurate in fugitive cases and it would appear accurate that Torin possibly has the alias and/or middle name Macduff. www.mylife.com/torin-smith/e784233609042Update: Just found a property detail where Torin Macduff Smith has a wife listed as Rena Lee Smith so this seemingly confirms it: www.parkco.org/prop2.asp?ScheduleNumber=43048 |

Moving Torin and Rena Smith manhunt to the Fugitives on TV section since they are now listed on the tip form for In Pursuit with John Walsh. I can confirm they will get a full profile this season. Possibly giving something away but maybe not since it's a common last name, but there will actually be two cases of full profiles this season with the last name of Smith, and this will be after the first Smith case as to not confuse anyone. (I hope I didn't ironically accidentally confuse anyone- but the main thing is I'm thrilled they're profiling Torin and Rena as I take this case very personally and they need to be caughty)

Some possible clues from last night's In Pursuit episode on Torin and Rena (also important to note Torin allegedly molested his daughters as well):
-Torin may have transferred money to Bitcoin accounts
-Smiths could still be in CO helped by members of congregation who somehow still believe them
-May have attempted to blend into another church community in us Mexico or even middle east
-Torin is computer savvy but also survivalist comfortable living off the grid
-Torin is 6 feet blue eyes stutter missing part of middle finger on one hand
-Rena blue eyes 5'3 140 lbs

The only way she could have sold that property is if Torrin and Rena signed off on it - which is aiding and abetting a fugitive in the State of Colorado. I was a former renter of that property, and dealt with Leah after Torrin and Rena went on the run. |

Received an email claiming Torin Smith's family members are trying to claim he died of Covid in Mexico in January 2022. Both would need to be verified (both that family is claiming this and that he died). Still wouldn't explain where Rena is.
I thank the person who emailed us, just we can't declare anything unless there's ever official confirmation.

Well it seems authorities still think both Smiths are alive as Torin and Rena were the subject of last night’s “The Hot List segment” on In Pursuit. (Season 5- episode 4/ 6/5/2024)
