Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Brown hair, dark brown eyes. LeeAnna has a mole or wart just above her left ankle, and a dimple on the back of her left shoulder. Her nicknames are Beaner and Little Beaner. Her hair was cut in a shoulder-length bob at the time of her June 2003 disappearance, and her ears are pierced. Her name may be spelled as "Leeanna," "Leanna," or "Leanne," or she may be referred to as LeeAnna Marie Warner.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A sleeveless dark blue denim dress (some agencies call it a shirt) with an attached belt, orange Hanes underwear, a flower-shaped earring with a red garnet in her right ear, and no shoes or socks.

LeeAnna Warner has been missing for over a decade from her neighbourhood. Her case was aired several times on AMW, mainly in 2003 (I think).
On Jun 14, 2003, five-year old LeeAnna was walking home from her friend's house in her Chisholm, Minnesota neighbourhood when she disappeared. A search that lasted several days turned up no sign of LeeAnna. Two months after LeeAnna disappeared, Matthew James Curtis was arrested in Chisholm on child pornography charges. He was questioned regarding LeeAnna's disappearance. One day before he was to appear in court, he was found dead in a gravel pit several miles away from Chisholm, police said he strangled himself with a plastic bag. Some doubt that theory and say he was murdered, however there's no evidence to indicate that. Authorities found LeeAnna's footprints near a lake, authorities pumped some of the water out of the lake but found no evidence and had to stop due to the lake freezing over.
Authorities investigated serial child killer Joseph Duncan in connection with LeeAnna's disappearance, but in 2005 cleared him as a suspect. LeeAnna's father feels that his daughter was abducted for the purpose of black-market adoption because LeeAnna's body was never found.
Thoughts? I didn't find anything to elaborate as to why some believe Matthew Curtis was murdered but it appears that there's no evidence to suggest that he was involved. About the black-market adoption theory, although there's no evidence to suggest LeeAnna was murdered, there's nothing to suggest the adoption theory either. She had to have been abducted, but there's really nothing else to work with in this case.
