It was one of the most tragic unknown cases in AMW history. On the afternoon of September 14, 2007, two men set out to rob a drug house in south Sacramento, California. Sean Aquitania Sr., 21, along with his son, Sean Jr., a 7-month old boy, was driving to visit his friend who lived in the residential neighborhood. The two robbers approached Sean, but when he resisted, they shot him, and according to the AMW re-enactment, deliberately shot his 7-month old baby. Many may remember the dramatic re-enactment when a friend ran to a bus driver and gave her the still-alive Sean Jr., who tragically would die as well as his father. Eventually, two-men, Donald Ortez-Lucero, and Christopher Strong were arrested as indirect results. (Although I'm sure AMW helped tremendously). A third man was arrested but the charges were dropped. Finally, after a 7-year wait for justice, Ortez-Lucero and Strong have been convicted. They now face life in prison without parole. In my opinion, this is one case where even that isn't harsh enough. www.kfbk.com/articles/kfbk-news-461777/jurors-reach-guilty-verdict-in-2007-12166605/

Also, this is REALLY off-topic but fellow AMW indirect capture Sebastian Barba was sentenced to 12-years in prison for a hit and run death in Long Island, New York. (I don't think it's necessary to make a thread for every indirect conviction, especially those who didn't have full-profiles, but the Aquitania case was a huge one. I figured I could just mention Barba in passing)

Lifer's row? Killing a young man and blasting a hole through a months-old baby's head should get the killers sent to death row! Even then, it's in California, where clemency is really generous, so it would take until the decade 203X before the killers finally got the needle! For the most hideous cases, there just never seems to be enough justice to go around.

I've always been conflicted on the death penalty, but in this case I would have gladly made an exception. But as you said, California takes forever to execute prisoners anyway. Now the two can rot instead.
