It’s that time of year, it’s time to vote for the next Top Ten Capture in 2019.
Recap of 2018
This year, despite having less captures than 2016 and 2017, it was still pretty epic. In February, Jesus Munguia, a notorious fugitive added to FBI Top Ten 3 months prior had been captured, then in June, Eduardo Ravelo, a fugitive who had been on the list for over 8 years was finally captured proving that no matter how long they run, they’ll eventually get caught. Also in June, William Bradford Bishop was removed from the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List and replaced by Antwan Tamon Mims (captured July 2018) who is currently the most recently captured fugitive.
The list going into 2019
The FBI Top Ten List has changed once again this year with only 4 pre 2015 and 6 post 2015 fugitives. Also any fugitive that survives 2019 will manage to survive into the new decade.
Robert Fisher 06/29/2002 - Still on List: Obviously a fugitive case where many of us are pretty divided, but my mind has been made up that he is still alive, and all it takes is the right tip or for Fisher himself to mess up, which is the only 2 ways to resolve this case.
Alexis Flores 06/02/2007 - Still on List: As many of us know, Flores is more than likely in Honduras since that is his place of birth. Tricky Extradition hurdles have gotten in the way of Flores standing trial for the murder of Iriana DeJesus, and we hope that we don’t have to go into 2020 with the case unsolved.
Jason Derek Brown 12/08/2007 - Still on List: Obviously this is an extremely famous case thanks to books and documentaries, but one thing 2018 has taught me, is that no matter how long they run, they’ll eventually get caught and I thought it was true for Ravelo, and it’s true for Brown as well.
Yaser Said 12/04/2014 - Still on List: Said has managed to climb a few spots this year thanks to the capture of Eduardo Ravelo and the removal of Brad Bishop. With the passage of time many of us speculate that he’s in Egypt and hopefully it’s a matter of them actually finding him and extraditing him.
Bhadreshkumar Patel 04/18/2017 - Still on List: Not many fugitives added after 2015 have lasted as long as Bhadreshkumar Patel, which leads us to believe that Patel might not be in the U.S. but rather overseas in the U.K. or India.
Santiago Villalba Mederos 09/25/2017 - Still on List: Mederos, like Patel has managed to stay on the list for a good amount of time, and with the capture of his brother a few months ago, I hope we can finally capture the Top Ten Fugitive in 2019.
Alejandro Rosales Castillo 10/24/2017 - Still on List: I’m surprised Castillo has lasted this long, and that he’s still on the FBI Top Ten Poll for 2019. It’s a matter of him being located in Mexico, or finding out who’s helping him by taking them into custody as well. 2 years is long enough for Castillo to be on the run, and let’s hope he doesn’t make it to 3.
Rafael Caro-Quintero 04/12/2018 - Still on List: The First addition of 2018 was probably the most shocking, and along with the shock came a $20,000,000 bounty. With regards to this case, I pretty much think it’s a matter of the Mexican government getting lucky in apprehending him.
Greg Alyn Carlson 09/27/2018 - Still on List: even with a confirmed sighting, it seems that Greg Carlson will survive into 2019, but the question is will he survive 2019? I think it won’t be long after the new year that Carlson gets caught.
Lamont Stephenson 10/11/2018 - Still on List: I have hope that Lamont will be captured very soon, given how the FBI Newark handled their previous Top Ten Fugitive, and even better like the previous fugitive, Stephenson is believed to be still in the U.S.
Let’s hope for a brilliant capture year. So choose wisely ☺️
