Many of us fans of AMW, The Hunt etc... are also fans of Unsolved Mysteries of course. As a result, many of us might peruse the Unsolved Mysteries Wiki site for updates on cases. But I just wanted to warn everybody that Unsolved Wiki is just like regular Wikipedia- it is accessible to all and any user can edit it and put in false information at any time.
A case in point is there a case on there about a man named George Walker Abbott who supposedly stabbed and killed a 11-year-old girl in 1951. I am pretty sure this is fake as I don't see his case anywhere else online, they mention him airing on the "July 18th, 1992" episode of Unsolved Mysteries when that air date is not in the episode guide and the wording is rather sophomoric (If somehow this turns to be real, I sincerely apologize but I doubt it).

As a matter of fact, a user posted the same case here but thankfully he deleted himself before I had to ban him.
Just wanted to let the word out to trust but verify the information on Unsolved Wiki. Which I mean no disrespect to them as they are an excellent resource and doing a great job (they even give us shout outs from time to time!) but:
A) Double check info on the official Unolved Mysteries website as well
Or
B) I realize I'm promoting another site, but double check with posters on the Unsolved Mysteries board on sitcoms online since they are very knowledgeable about the cases shown on Unsolved Mysteries. (I'm only a lurker but there seems to be a lot of old school posters there).
Also, instances like this are unfortunate and rare and for the most part thankfully most cybersleuths are serious about following cases thoroughly and updating with accurate information.
