From the Watauga Democrat website:
CHARLOTTE — A 52-year-old man is wanted by the U.S. Marshal's Office for a reported abduction of a minor in Washington County, Va.
According to an announcement by the U.S. Marshal's Office, the U.S. Marshals Service will support a reward of up to $1,000 for information specifically leading to the arrest and apprehension of Barry Andrew Glenn. Glenn is described in the announcement as a white or white hispanic man with blue eyes, brown hair, weighing approximately 186 pounds and standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The U.S. Marshal's Office states Glenn has ties to Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee.
High Country Crime Stoppers and Watauga Sheriff’s Office request the public's help in locating Glenn.
High Country Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization operated by a volunteer community board of directors serving Avery and Watauga counties. High Country Crime Stoppers encourages the reporting of information or leads that can assist law enforcement with solving crimes.
Its goal is to help in the fight against crime, but it is not part of the local police departments or sheriff’s offices. Each county has a law enforcement coordinator who participates as an advisor to the board but is a non-voting member. The citizen’s board is responsible for operations of the program, fundraising, public relations and approval of rewards.
Anyone with information on this alleged crime or any other crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (828) 268-6959 or (828) 737-0125 or the Boone Police Department at (828) 268-6900. Submit a Crime Stoppers tip at www.tipsubmit.com/webtips.aspx?AgencyID=1251 or text “NCTIP plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). All information will be kept confidential.
High Country Crime Stoppers pays rewards for information that leads to arrests, recovery of stolen property, seizure of drugs and the location of wanted persons.
Arresting agencies are urged to validate any issued warrants through the National Crime Information Center. If Glenn is arrested or his whereabouts is known, the announcement states to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals Office or call the U.S. Marshals Service Headquarters at 1-(877) 926-8332.

Thoughts? Glenn is technically wanted out of Virginia but his ties to North Carolina and possibility he is hiding in the High County area seems to be the reason for the recent publicity blitz.
Also, the overall case itself is quite disturbing- the girl was a 15-year old runaway from a group home in Smyth County, Virginia. She was recovered back in September. Three people overall have been arrested while Glenn is the remaining fugitive. 45 year-old Leroy VanMeter seems to have the most serious charges according to the article I've read. A grand jury indicted VanMeter on charges of abduction, conspiracy to commit abduction, 50 counts of production of child pornography, 20 counts of indecent liberties with a child, allowing a minor to be present during the manufacture of methamphetamine and distribution of meth to a minor. Two other defendants- 68-year old John Charles Pender and 37-year-old Carla Norris Allen were also charged in connection to the case. (Pender was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit abduction and one count of rape while Allen was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit abduction.

Although details aren't given, those overall charges alone are quite scary.
Even though Glenn, at the moment, seems only wanted on one charge of child abduction, because of the seriousness of the overall case I decided to make him a breaking news fugitive. As far as I can tell he is still at large as of this posting date (December 8th, 2018) based on the recent local North Carolina publicity blitzes. However, if anyone ever has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
