Authorities in Pennsylvania are searching for missing mother Joey Offutt. Her case was aired on AMW four times from 2008 to 2012.
On Jul 12, 2007, the fire department responded to an explosion and fire at the home of Joey Offutt in Sykesville, Pennsylvania. After the fire was extinguished, the remains of Joey's six-week old son was found in the bathtub, he had died before the fire was started. Investigators determined the fire was caused by an accelerant. Joey was last seen on Jul 4 and her purse and identification was found in the rubble of her home. Her car was found at the apartment complex where she had recently lived, however it was backed into a parking space neatly and her family said that was uncharacteristic of her since she didn't drive well. Her sister thought she may have become too trusting of someone she had recently met, Joey also enjoyed meeting people online.
There is also some speculation that Joey's boyfriend Alexis may have been involved, based on things in the ID True Crime Show "Disappeared" (although I don't know if it's on youtube), and posts Joey apparently made on a single mother site about their rocky relationship. I would have to look into Alexis further. Authorities haven't even called him a person of interest however.
Thoughts? This is a baffling and interesting case. There is no evidence that Joey killed her son, besides, she was missing for several days before her home was set on fire. It's possible that someone Joey had recently met may have been responsible. And about Alexis, there's no evidence linking him to this and I don't know how reliable a show Disappeared on ID is.
