Authorities in New Mexico are trying to identify the remains of a teenage girl that were found in 1995. AMW aired the case once in 2010.
On Oct 30, 1995, an archer doing target practice in rural Bernalillo County (north of Albuquerque) found the skeleton of a teenage girl, age 14 to 20. The victim's skull was missing. Investigators did find tiny teeth and a cameo locket (shown in the picture above). The case went cold for years before cold case investigator Bill Peters wanted to try to solve it. A forensic anthropologist determined the victim was likely stabbed to death. It was also determined that the victim's lower jaw was located a few years before the rest of her skeleton. The girl had dental work done and locket was likely purchased at a five-and-dime shop.
Some more clues are that the victim likely died between 1985 to 1991. She may have walked pigeon toed, may have been 5'1-5'6 and may have weighed 105-110 lbs.

Thoughts? The biggest issue about this case I'm sure we all remember was how AMW did this segment. They had Jenna Naranjo (at the time she was a correspondent) do a voice-over like from the movie "The Lovely Bones". On the old AMW.com forum, we had issues with that as that it was very bizarre and didn't add anything to the story, of course this was at the time when AMW was doing some very bizarre segments that we generally didn't like.
A second issue, but not that big of a deal considering this case was only aired once, was how tough this case is going to be to solve. Without the skull, you don't have a facial picture of what the victim may have looked like, and the rest of the clues don't really mean that much when you consider that the victim may have been killed as long as 10 years before her skeleton was discovered. Bill Peters presented this case after AMW identified the "Boots Jane Doe" as Sandra Jean Brady, however Wesley Williams who became an AMW direct capture was acquitted in that case because the evidence against him was circumstantial.
Thoughts? With the lack of information I can't make a guess as to who this victim may have been and what relationship, if any she may have had with her killer.
