CINCINNATI -- A father and son were found dead early Sunday in what appears to be a double homicide in the city's Madisonville neighborhood.
Michael Myatt, 57, and Matthew Myatt, 30, had been shot, according to Lt. Michael Fern. Both were already dead inside a home on Adelphi Street by the time police arrived, at about 12:47 a.m.
A neighbor, Stacey Black, said she heard gunshots hours earlier, around 8:30 or 9 p.m. Saturday. Black said she sent a message to Matthew Myatt, known as Matt. But she never heard back.
The Myatts were good neighbors, she said: Matthew Myatt was friendly to everyone, and her son and other children loved him.
"How do you explain that to little ones when they're looking for him? I don't know who, I don't know what, I don't know why, but it's just bad. They didn't deserve it," Black said.
Police at the scene said the deaths did not appear to be a "murder-suicide."
Investigators are checking out a black SUV found at the scene. It was parked in a such a way that police believe it was involved, Sgt. Mike Miller said.
"As a mom, I'm scared," Black said. "As a neighbor, I'm heartbroken."

Thoughts? This is a baffling case as articles say there are more questions than answers. Michael (the father) and Matthew (the son) had just celebrated another relative's birthday shortly before they were murdered. Michael Myatt worked at the Hamilton County juvenile court youth center.
As of this posting date (11/6/2018), this is also listed as a still unsolved case on the Ohio attorney general website: www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/Files/Law-Enforcement/Investigator/Cold-Case/Homicides/Myatt
