From Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers- Cold Case Homicides section:
Friday, July 24, 1987 at 2:00 a.m. Greensboro officers were called to 101 Pisgah Church Road, The Pantry, in reference to a subject down. Upon arrival at the scene officers found the clerk, Teresa Sneed, lying on the floor in the back of the business. Further investigation revealed that Ms. Sneed died from multiple gunshot wounds in a robbery of the store. There is a Governor’s reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this offense.

Thoughts? According to an article on this case, a man named Tony Lee Jackson was actually put on trial for Teresa's murder but the charges against him were dropped in 2000 following a 1998 mistrial. There was no eyewitness or physical evidence against Jackson. However, three witnesses at trial testified that Jackson had confessed to them. Jackson testified that he was in New York and Connecticut when Sneed was murdered and that he had nothing to do with the crime. On the witness stand, Jackson did admit to robbing several stores and restaurants around the time of Teresa's death. He said he committed the robberies to feed his crack habit, but he never hurt anyone.
Prosecutors declined to seek a second trial after they were unable to find any new evidence and a witness committed suicide.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned there are only two plausible scenarios: A) Jackson did indeed commit murder and unfortunately got away with it. B) The justice system actually worked for an innocent person for a change and Teresa's killer was still out there.
In my opinion, I know this might sound like an out there theory, but part of me wonders if Jackson did kill Teresa Sneed but was so high on crack he doesn't even remember it or his brain is so he fried from crack he doesn't remember it. Of course, it doesn't seem Jackson will ever be charged again. Our only hope seems to be is if someone else killed Teresa, and it can somehow be proven or the perpetrator confess. It would be an extreme longshot, but the best we can do in hoping that perhaps one day there will be final justice for Teresa.
