LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
It didn't take long for family members to identify the victim who was shot in front of his own home.
It happened around 4:15 a.m. in the 3400 block of Powell Avenue.
“This is just a tragedy for us; we can't take too much more," said Minnie Louise Gibson.
Gibson says her great grandson Martell Hall was returning home early Sunday morning when he was gunned down in front of his doorsteps in the 3400 block of Powell Avenue.
Police searched the crime scene for hours looking for evidence.
"We are feeling very down and very low, because he was at my house every day and he had just came to my house last night," said Gibson.
Gibson says the 28-year-old father of five is the latest relative to be killed by gun violence.
In December, she says she also lost her granddaughter’s uncle, 51-year-old Vincent Starling, who was shot to death on Radcliffe Avenue.
The tight-knit family is once again standing together in light of another tragedy that hits close to home.
"We want just to love one another. Stop all this killing," Gibson said.
"Whoever (has) done this I hope they turn them self in,” said Tamara Gullion.
Gullion says his presence will be missed.
"Joking, that smile of his. His smile is very distinct and you know, his handsomeness. He was very handsome. You know it really hurts me that someone would gun him down like that. It baffles me," Gullion said.
"This is just too much. It's too much. It's too much. Enough is enough. Pray for us. Pray for my family that we'll still be strong and stand strong," said Gibson.

Thoughts? Unfortunately I couldn't find any updates since 2015 but I still wanted to post Martell's case here after reading the article about his tragic death and his family tragedy in general. Also, as of this posting date (10/23/2018), the Louisville Police Department still lists his case as an open (unsolved) homicide:
