Details of Disappearance
Johnson was last seen on foot near the Dollar General Store on Pond Branch Highway, just off A.C. Bauknight Road, in Gilbert, South Carolina at 7:00 p.m. on May 31, 2016. He was on his way to his former girlfriend's home to see his children.
His father saw him walking along the road, looking as if he was upset, and he pulled over and offered Johnson a ride. Johnson refused, however. He never arrived at his girlfriend's home that evening and has never been heard from again.
According to his mother, Johnson frequently went on walks to deal with stress. He was going through a breakup at the time of his disappearance and missed his children, but in spite of his personal problems neither his family nor law enforcement believe he left of his own accord.
Johnson had no criminal record and no known enemies, and he has no history of dropping out of sight. He was close to his family and kept in regular contact with his mother and his girlfriend. His disappearance remains unsolved.
