Iowa Cold Cases coverage: iowacoldcases.org/case-summaries/dennis-strable/
Thoughts? According to Iowa Cold Cases, Strable had been in and out of prison since 1980 on charges of drug possession, driving while intoxicated and burglary, and had been released on parole just a month before he was killed. Despite his struggles with the law, a friend who served time with Strable called him "Uncle Dennis" and stated he would check up on him and his health. (The cell mate suffers from mental health issues). Strable was described as having a "heart of gold."
As far as I can tell, Dennis's case is still unsolved as of this posting date (10/20/2018), since it is still on Iowa Cold Cases which is pretty well-updated. However, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates on his case, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
