Anyone notice today that Palmer was tweeted about by the FBI regarding the reward for information leading to his arrest? I was wondering if anyone has any theories as to why that was done (my guess is today was the anniversary of the murder, but I can’t help but wonder if they threw that out there because they are trying to pin him down (and they have a good idea of where he is).

I'm thinking more because of the anniversary- one does to have wonder if he died of natural causes by now even if he wasn't dead initially.

I think they’ll locate Palmer eventually, but I think with the way the current list looks, Palmer is due for a reward increase by about $50,000 - $75,000 in order to prevent tips on the guy from drying up.

Haven't seen them do a reward increase in a while. I actually like it for Palmer as he's (in theory if alive) more catchable than the others currently on the list.

Percentage-wise, what does your gut tell you (in the form of percent certainty of being alive or dead)? The FBI seemed adamant that they had leads indicating he fled NY, but they have been tight-lipped about where any sightings have come in from. I’m guessing that they haven’t shown their cards yet as far as sightings go because they think he’s on the move, or like you said in the Fisher case, they may be closer to catching him than they think. They indicated they had a solid lead in 2017, but only revealed that it was from out of state.

The funny thing is I always assumed he was dead in the woods and they never found his body until The Hunt episode and saw how arrogant and unlikeable his two kids were in my opinion.
I'm still 50-50 on alive or dead. Robert Fisher I'm 55-4560/40 ish towards alive.

Please believe me, I am in no way questioning you nor am I insulting your intelligence (I would never do that), but does it seem to you that the FBI has been much more adamant that he is alive as compared to Fisher’s case? Their adamancy has led me to believe he is alive.

Yeah they seem more adamant but in fairness it is a more relatively recent case.

If Yaser Said despite 12 years of high profile publicity could stay at large and be located alive in Texas, then I think the same could be said for Robert Fisher who I’m thinking right now is still alive and catchable compared to Alexis Flores.... heck even Brown is catchable.
Palmer I think it could genuinely go both ways, but just like Emigdio Preciado, the Haverstraw Police Department should increase the reward to $150,000 or $175,000 or at the maximum, the FBI should increase it to the maximum of $250,000, thia is a case where time is the enemy and they need to uncover every rock.
The FBI got too cocky with the capture of an 80+ year old fugitive whitey Bulger, and thought they could pull it off again with Brad Bishop.... now they just need to redeem themselves with Eugene Palmer and turn up the heat.

I think Fisher is going to be harder to find because he’s a loner and because I seriously doubt his family is hiding him. His sister, when he was profiled on The Hunt, was really begging for him to turn himself in. She also said she has the FBI Agent’s (assigned to the case) phone number if Robert does call. With Palmer, he was an outdoorsman like Fisher, but the FBI has floated that he could be living in an elderly community, so he may be blending in.

I know this is a dumb question and when it comes to individuals like Palmer the sky is limit as to where he can hide.... but does anyone here think Eugene Palmer is hiding out in Maine?
It’s the closest in proximity to New York State and Maine is very rural in the inland areas and the weather is cooler in the summer compared to most of the northeast and Canada pretty close, so he could’ve escaped to Canada as well.

There’s no such thing as a dumb question.
I think that’s very possible for the reasons you outlined. If I had to guess, I would presume he is indeed in a rural area, as that would explain how he’s still on the run at this point. I think he is going to stick to his habits of the outdoorsman he is. I wouldn’t doubt that he’s somewhere along the Canadian border. In my opinion, every border agent should have a photo of this guy.

I don't think asking if Palmer is in Maine is a dumb question as one thing we've learned in these cases is they can be anywhere. You can literally ask anywhere in the country or world and it wouldn't be a dumb question. The Price of Honor was correct, but how many people would have honestly predicted Yaser Said was still in Texas?
With that being said, I still feel that although Palmer is from upstate New York at his age he would do better in warmer weather and I feel it's much more likely that he is in a warmer-weather southern state like Georgia or Florida.

Your post brings up a good point: I’m wondering if he’s in a place where he can have the best of both worlds: (I.e. outdoorsman activities and a warmer climate). Not many of those areas, but it’s a possibility.

This might be a weird reference but I remember in Bowling for Columbine they showed a promotional video for South Metro Denver promoting that area of Colorado as that sort of place, they surprisingly get a lot of sun and summer etc... so I guess that could be a possibility if not exaggerated.
