From local12.com:
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A father of three and his wife were trying to get home in the middle of the Brent Spence Bridge construction nightmare this summer when a bullet shattered the window, killing Lian Nung.
Police say finding three drivers could solve this mystery.
Nung and his wife had just enrolled their children in Sycamore schools. The family was moving to Blue Ash, but on July 25th, they were trying to get home to Kentucky.
Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters said, "If you remember, detour off (Interstate) 71 South to get on (Interstate) 75 South had to loop around come back around Linn Street off (Route) fifty."
Nung crept along the 6th Street ramp to southbound I-75.
Cars were going about three miles per hour. It wasn't unusual to hear horns honking, but at 5:10 p.m., it was the sound of gunfire.
Nung passed two cars pulled over on the ramp. One was broken down. The other driver was there to help the broken down. Both say there was no road rage incident.
"From there, the terrain goes up to another ramp and the path of the bullet went from here. That's where it hit him coming from the top. We think an elevated shot," Deters said.
So lets go to the ramp above. A black SUV with tinted windows is what Deters wants you to see. If someone in this car fired out the window it would have been at the right place and time to explain the trajectory of the bullet that hit Nung in the top rear of his head.
"These cars are going very slow. These are picking up speed," Deters said. "If this car got up here and fired, it would be the trajectory of where the bullet went."
These two vehicles would have been in the right place to see something, but police can't find the drivers of the red work van or the PT Cruiser.
"If I had to guess, I would say someone (was) upset with traffic and the way it was flowwing and they took a shot," Deters said.
This may be one of those cases where people heard or saw something and not realize how important it is.
Crimestoppers wheel of justice and the prosecutor's office each are putting up a $2,500 reward for a total of $5,000.

Thoughts? What makes this case so baffling- but also frightening- is this does not seem like a targeted road rage incident but rather someone possibly randomly firing into traffic- with Lian Nung the unlucky victim on that day. (In my opinion, I think a scenario of the shooter intending to kill someone else and the bullet hitting Nung may be a possible scenario as well).
