(Edit from admin: Picture above is of Patricio Sosa, only fugitive left in this case.) In 2007, AMW first aired the story of the last three wanted Cadena-Sosa family members, who ran a sex-trafficking operation that forced Mexican women and girls into prostitution in Florida. Despite numerous airings, Carmela Cadena, Patricio Sosa and Rafael Alberto Cadena-Sosa have not been arrested. The ring originated in Veracruz, Mexico, where Cadena-Sosa family members proposed the opportunity to women to work in agriculture, restaurants, house cleaning or prostitution in Florida for much better pay than their salaries in Mexico. Once they were smuggled into Florida, they were told that they were forced to work as prostitutes. The customers were mainly migrant farm workers who would be reluctant to inform Law Enforcement. The victims would be forced to service as many as 25 to 30 men a day, in order to pay off their debt for being smuggled into the United States. Most of the money earned went to the Cadena-Sosa Family, or to pay for the victim's food, lingerie and forced abortions (in which a victim would have to resume servicing men the next day). This made paying off their debts nearly impossible. Search warrants were issued in 1997 and federal indictments were issued for 16 family members. To date, only three members remain as fugitives. Sadly, it doesn't seem like the three aren't going to be captured anytime soon as they are believed to be in Mexico. Over the years on the old AMW forum and now this one, I've mentioned the sheer amount of problems of apprhending fugitives who flee to their birth nation in Latin America. Extradition requests have to be translated into Spanish, and sometimes the governments need a specific address to be bothered to arrest the fugitive. The Chicago Tribune's Fugitives From Justice series showcased how numerous fugitives wanted out of Chicagoland (majority of them Mexican) weren't being actively hunted by American Law Enforcement and how reporters actually interviewed these fugitives while the American and Mexican governments weren't doing anything to apprehend them. It doesn't help that only recently, Mexico took some steps to combat human trafficking (Changing some parts of Mexico's constitution in 2011). Admin Note #1: Carmela Cadena-Sosa and Rafael Cadena-Sosa have now been captured but Patricio Sosa is as far as we know still at large. If you have any information on his whereabouts, our advice based on the agencies who have handled the other alleged conspirators in this case, would be to contact your local FBI field office or embassy or submit a web tip at tips.fbi.govwww.tcpalm.com/news/2008/mar/03/30gthuman-smuggling-ring-is-back-in-court/thecnnfreedomproject.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/14/mexico-changes-constitution-to-combat-human-trafficking/Admin Note #2 If you have any news-related updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I was disappointed they were removed but sadly I agree it looks bleak for the chances of a capture in the near future. I remember Pakman saying he saw a man who looked exactly like Rafael Cadena-Sosa while with his parents in the Caribbean and submitted a tip to amw.com, but he did also say afterwards he got a feeling it probably wasn't him.

I just wanted to state there was a post deleted in this thread because the user blamed the victims in this case and referred to them as prostitutes.
While I am all for freedom of speech, there is a huge difference between opinion and slander.
Saying you believe a fugitive is innocent for example, is your right whether we agree or disagree. But to trash talk and name call the alleged victim or victims is inexcusable.
The users' comment has been removed and the person is now banned.

Someone private messaged me Carmen/Carmela was captured. If that person is reading this, please private message me again with a link or post a link here!
A few posters have claimed the capture of a few fugitives recently, but I can't officially declare a fugitive as captured on this site without a media article especially given the troll incidents made in this thread a few months ago I'll really need a link to believe Carmela's captured.
Edit: A link has been provided. Once again, I will never accuse anyone of lying about a capture, and I will take your word for it personally, but I need a link to make an official announcement. Thank you to abovedalaw for the info!

I do not have any links to offer, but Carmen was captured at work. She was captured in Mexico. I believe the story is in one of the main newspapers in Tijuana. Let's just say me/we know her personally and we were all there when they slap the cuffs on her.

OK Admin, I totally Understand. When she was caught a lot of us got on the internet to look her up and read all about her and the family. This is how I ran across your site. I just happen to peek in and thought I would share that. A co-worker said they had something in the local paper about it, but personally I never saw anything about it, but again, we work with her and know her, and were here when they came in to get her. We know her, partied with her and have pictures of those parties with Carmen partying her heart out. But that's not what's important for your thread I understand. I wish I had a link. Good Luck with your thread. I'll stop by and peek in from time to time if that's ok. I too am a AMW fan and have been for years.

Oh wow! Once again, sorry if my tone sounded accusatory. It's just we had a problem with people making false claims on this forum in the past. Someone finally had good info and I still couldn't acknowledge it, lol. It must have been something to realize a woman who I'm assuming didn't come across as evil was running from some terrible alleged crimes. Once again, thank you for the info and the link, and I will be posting this in the captures section. Great news!

I checked the Florida Department Of Law Enforcement warrants search and didn't find one for Patricio Sosa. I'm just surprised there hasn't been much more publicity on the arrests of Carmela and Rafael. So I'm wondering if Patricio Sosa is still wanted. pas.fdle.state.fl.us/pas/person/displayWantedPersonsSearch.a

Patricio could have been captured and we don't know it either, but we can't do much without a media article except to assume he's still at large.
