www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/italy/10608631/Amanda-Knox-and-Raffaele-Sollecito-found-guilty-of-Meredith-Kercher-murder.htmlKnox had previously vowed to become a "fugitive" if found guilty. It doesn't seem the U.S. would even agree to extradite her since it would violate their system of "doule jeopardy" where the same person cannot be tried twice for the same crime. (Knox had previously been released and had her verdict overturned). I just hope this doesn't complicate U.S.-Italy relations in regards to other fugitives if things get messy. the U.S. did get US Marshals Top 15-er Miguel Torres back from Italy. To be honest, and this may sound wrong, but part of me was rooting for Knox to be found not guilty just because I'm sick and tired of hearing about this story and just wanted it to go away. But here we go again apparently...

I never really paid much attention to this story. I was also hoping this story would go away but here comes an extradition battle between the US and Italy. *groan*

I was also hoping this story would go away but here comes an extradition battle between the US and Italy. *groan* It seems Knox and Sollecito (her ex-boyfriend also convicted again) can appeal this verdict to the Italy Supreme Court. I assume they will do that first. Meaning a potentially even lengthier saga.

www.cnn.com/2015/03/27/europe/amanda-knox/Knox has been acquitted! I am actually surprised, not because I thought she was guilty, but there has been so many twists and turns in this it looked destined to go down to the last possible second- I was expecting a ruling that resulted in a re-trial but apparently this entire saga is over. Selfishly I'm happy because I was tired of hearing about this story and I was worried about U.S.-Italian extradition for other cases (for example, Miguel Torres was sent back here), but I should add I never believed there was a strong enough case for conviction and that constantly re-trying her violated laws of double jeopardy that I do believe in here in the states regardless. FINALLY this appears over. www.cnn.com/2015/03/27/europe/amanda-knox/
