On June 8, 1985, atapproximately 7:20 AM, the body of 21 year-old Brian Keith Martin was found onthe side of FM 841, just outside of Lufkin, in Angelina County. Brian was the victim of a gunshot wound to the head. Brian’s 1979 Chevrolet Camaro, bearing Louisiana tags, was nowhere to be found. A firearm was recovered just a few feet from Brian’s body.
Brian was from Bossier City,Louisiana, where he was employed by Assure Inspection Management. He previously resided in Homestead, Florida. At the time of his death, Brian was staying with friends at a local Lufkin trailer park while assigned to a Lufkin area paper mill. Employment records indicated Brian and his roommate had gotten off work at the paper mill at approximately 1:00 AM, and went to the trailer home. The last known sighting of Brian was by his roommate. Brian’s roommate reported Brian departed the trailer home in his Camaro at approximately 1:30 AM.
