Mauricio Beltran-Trejo is wanted for the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
Linked above is the AMW re-enactment of Beltran-Trejo's alleged crime. After him and Krystal Gomez met a bar, it seemed like the start of a great romantic relationship, but for Gomez, the bloom would soon fall off the rose. Beltran-Trejo would allegedly abuse her, and there are indications he would have abused her two children as well had she not put herself in the middle and sacrificed the beatings for their sake.
One night, Gomez purposely got into an argument with Beltran-Trejo at the bar so he would get in trouble. It worked, both were arrested, and Beltran-Trejo was deported to Mexico.
Despite this, and despite Gomez moving locations, Beltran-Trejo would still find ways to discover where she lived, call her and taunt her.
April 2, 2012, Beltran-Trejo allegedly forced his way into a her home, strangled her until she was unconscious, and sexually assaulted her.
Gomez miraculously survived but ordeal wasn't over. Shortly after the attack and after Gomez moved again, her daughter was driving her in their car when they noticed a familiar figure behind them. It was Mauricio Beltran-Trejo. Gomez says Beltran-Trejo followed them for blocks, smiling them the whole down.
Thoughts? I remember Pakman on AMW.COM's old forums pointing out the similarities between this case and AMW cold case fugitive Alvaro Alvarado. Both possessive and controlling. Both stalked their victims through traffic. Both from Oregon.
What scares me is even though Beltran-Trejo is a Mexican citizen, he still came back to taunt Krystal and her children, and I fear the potential of him wanting to "finish what he started" if he doesn't get caught. No one deserves to live with such fear, especially when they are the victim and didn't do anything wrong.
Admin note: According to online articles, Beltran-Trejo is described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He reportedly is known to hang out in Beaverton and Hillsboro, Oregon and has worked in custodial and landscaping jobs. Beaverton police are asking for the public's help in finding Beltran-Trejo.
