In April of 2018, Verlaine Laguerre was convicted in a Fulton County courtroom of the 2011 shooting death of 19-year old football scholarship student Matthew Hardeman. Authorities say that Matthew was shot more than 50 times by Verlaine and two accomplices and left on his front lawn. Even though Verlaine was convicted, he fled the courthouse right before the verdict was reached and went on the run.

Thoughts? As of today, Verlaine is still on the Fulton County Most Wanted page as a fugitive and there is an active warrant notice in the Fulton County court records page. It should be noted that there had been a previous mistrial in the murder case of Matthew Hardeman according to other articles I had read, but Verlaine has confirmed to have been proven guilty in a court of law. So there is no doubt now to his guilt.
