Willis Gonzalez, wanted for his part in a deadly 2011 street brawl in the town of Hazleton in Pennsylvania, has the unique distinction of being an American fugitive with a Red Notice wanted poster on Interpol's website.
According to reports, the events unfolded on the night of January 11th, 2016 in Hazleton. A man named Rodolfo Hiraldo-Perez was supposed to have a "fair" fist-fight with a 21-year old man named Vladimir Ruiz to settle a disagreement over an earlier skirmish at a convenience store.
What was originally intended as a one-on-one battle between Ruiz and a co-defendant, Angel Sanchez, instantly dissolved into a lopsided and deadly brawl, witnesses would later testify in court.
Sanchez, violating the supposed parameters of the fight, arrived from a nearby nightclub with an entourage that included Hiraldo-Perez and members of the Dominican gang they belonged to, the Trinitarios, the witnesses said.
In an instant, according to witnesses, Sanchez started wailing on Ruiz and pushed him to the ground. At the same time, another member of the entourage, Willis Gonzalez, chased Judah Hope, 22, across the street and shot him. (Unfortunately, I could not access the article saying why Judah Hope was at the fight since I had to be a paid subscriber, but an online headline reads "Sister says murder victim was trying to help friend).
After hearing the gunshot, one witness said he later saw Sanchez punching Ruiz and Hiraldo-Perez stabbing him.
When it was all over, Ruiz and Hope would both die from their injuries.
Sanchez would plead guilty for his role and would be sentenced to 17-34 years in prison. Hiraldo-Perez received life in prison.
Willis Gonzalez, however, chose not to stick around and face justice for his alleged role. It was believed initially that Gonzalez fled to the Dominican Republic.
Thoughts? Gonzalez is I'm assuming still at large as of this posting date (7/29/2018) since he still has a Red Notice wanted poster on Interpol's website which is pretty up-to-date). For those unfamiliar with the term, it's pretty much the closest thing to an international arrest warrant, and in most fugitive cases I've seen the suspect is usually flagged in the airport system should they try to travel with their own passport.
Obviously, the Trinitarios may be more familiar to some than in the past since they were in the news after the high-profile murder of Bronx teen Lisandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz. I will say this, there are many hard-working and honest good Dominican people. I should know, I grew up in New York City which has a large Dominican population. However, the Trinitarios are bad news that do not represent most Dominicans.
Gonzalez was allegedly part of this dangerous gang, and then apparently during a melee that didn't even initially involve him, allegedly out of nowhere runs up and shoots someone. That is a ticking time bomb waiting to happen again if that's how it all went down and he needs to go down today.

Admin Note #1: Since Gonzalez is listed on Interpol, our advice for anyone with information on his whereabouts would be that they contact them at the link provided on his wanted poster above, however, since he's also wanted out of Pennsylvania, we feel Crime Stoppers of Pennsylvania would also be a good avenue to send in tips: www.crimewatchpa.com/crimestoppers/316
