I'm really tired of these ladies who allegedly kill their newborn after giving birth. Look, I don't want to endorse anything that may be against someone's beliefs, but at the very least if you didn't want him or her least give the baby up for adoption. Why is it necessary to kill them AFTER they're born instead?

All Muse had to do was drop the baby off at a police station, fire department, etc and no questions would have been asked.
And I try to keep politics off this site. But abortion is legal whether you like it or not. I'm not advocating Pro-Choice, I'm just saying she also had the legal options to abort, or to give birth and give the baby up for adoption. I'm not saying those are the correct moral options just so I don't offend anybody, but those were two of the many legal alternatives Ms. Muse had that wouldn't have sent her to prison instead of allegedly killing her baby.
I think it is perhaps possible Muse isn't cold-blooded and was a young kid who didn't know what to do, but even at her age, she should know she chose the worst possible option.

If the defence attorney presents this Somalian culture hypothesis to the jury, is it possible they'll discount her sentence and only put her away for a decade or two?

I don't know if it's possible her sentence would be discounted, but I'm pretty darn sure the defense attorney would be likely to use the argument.

Shadia Muse should be either placed on the FBI's top ten list or be a featured fugitive in season 3 of The Hunt, she was very young at the time of her crime in 2004 I mean she was 18 and has managed to stay out there for 12 years and now she's 30. Honestly like John Walsh said when talking about Brad Bishop on the hunt "it doesn't matter if he killed them a week ago or 38 years ago, he still needs to pay" and that's what I think in this case too, though I feel bad because she was still an immature teenager then, but let's hope she has a change of heart and turns herself in, but I feel the only way she can be caught is if she appears on "America's Infamous Roster" or The Hunt airs her case for season 3.

It shocks me that Shadia Muse still hasn't been caught after all this time. First off I don't think Shadia wants to go back to Somalia because the country has been a mess because of a civil war and lack of a central Govt since 1991, which means that even if she's there, Somalia can't extradite her as their is no extradition treaty with them and the U.S..
In my gut I feel Shadia has to be somewhere in the Mid-Western or Northeast region of the United States or somewhere in Ontario, Canada, but then again she could be anywhere at this point.
Now Shadia has been my original Top Ten contender since I started in this hobby in 2005, and sometimes I think back to this case when slots open up and how she could, at this point be a great cold case replacement for Robert Van Wisse's slot as the list could flush her out quick. The spotlight needs to be put on Shadia, she clear things up, and not keep living her life as a Fugitive.
As as was mentioned earlier that if she was tried she'd get a lighter or suspended sentence, I personally don't think it'd be the case as this woman chose to run and even at 31 years old she hasn't made any attempts to turn herself in.
Any thoughts on Shadia Muse as a potential Top 10er? Or on her whereabouts? or what sentence she should receive if she's found and tried?

I would agree if she had turned herself in earler, the potential for leniency would have been much greater. The longer she stays running from accountability, the less and less likely that already diminishing chance looks. (if it hasn't already been entirely obliterated).
Articles seem to indicate Toronto as the strongest possibility.

Obviously Muse is still at large as of this posting date (12/8/2017) since she is still on the FBI's website, but wanted to also provide the link to Franklin County court records where we can also monitor the case against her to be on the safe side. There was no court activity from 2004 until August 2nd, 2013 when the case was suddenly reopened with a disposition of "warrant cancelled- direct indictment" which I'm assuming is just legal mumbo jumbo meaning the original warrant was cancelled but she's still wanted as a result of a new indictment (I hope that wasn't too confusing). This probably explains why she wasn't on AMW and/or the FBI's website sooner. www.fcmcclerk.com/case/view

Shadia Muse has been removed from the FBI website sometime within the last 6 months to a year as I no longer see her on there.... must have happened when the FBI added all those L.A. Area fugitives.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they cancelled the second warrant or removed her and will hopefully eventually add her as a Top Ten Fugitive like they did with Arnoldo Jimenez.

Interestingly, I found a Somalian message board in which someone claims they knew someone who met Shadia, even said she was from Ohio- and claims she is now married with kids. According to poster, her tribesmen smuggled her to Canada where she got a fake passport where she fled to the qaarada inkaarta qabta (which I'm assuming is a tribe in Somalia). Granted it is an internet poster saying this but still an interesting claim. It would make sense the FBI would remove her if she unfortunately is somewhere not cooperating in an extradition request. At the same time, Arnoldo Jimenez was removed from the site and then suddenly added to the top ten list so I guess you never know. www.somaliaonline.com/community/topic/69935-shadia-is-on-the-run-since-2004/

Even if Muse possibly gets captured in Somalia, it would be another Dan Hiers situation, where it could very well possibly be years before she’s brought back. I still think Muse would make a good FBI Top 10 addition, and it would put pressure under special circumstances on the Somali Government.
