The Massachusetts State Police announced Monday that Stephen C. Cote, a man with a history of offenses related to child pornography, has been added to the state's list of most wanted fugitives.
Cote, 47, has known ties to Northampton and Springfield, as well as Westfield, Southbridge, New Bedford, Woodstock, Conn. and as far south as Louisiana.
He is wanted by state police and Northampton police after he fled prosecution following his 2015 arrest in Northampton for possession of child pornography.
He has been on the run since then, according to state police.
Cote is white, roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 190 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair, and has been known to shave his head and keep different styles of facial hair.
He was previously convictions in Massachusetts, including one for assault and battery. He has been known to use aliases of Steven Cote and Stephen Craig Cote.
Police ask that anyone who knows where he can found to call the state police Violent Fugitive Apprension Section at 800-KAPTURE or 800-527-8873.
