On December 14, 2017, Duwin Perez-Cordova was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico by the US Marshals on a charge of attempted murder that took place a local car wash. He was sent to a detention center where in May he became cell mates with Edwin Sanchez. For reasons that are unknown, Edwin willingly traded identifying wristbands with Duwin.
On June 10, 2018, authorities say that Duwin while wearing Edwin's wristband, managed to walk out of the Albuquerque detention center and got on a prison-provided transport bus to the downtown corridor of the city. Three hours later, jail officials realized the mistake.
Based on investigating agencies, it is advised to contact the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office at 505-789-7000 or the local Crime Stoppers at 843-7867 if you have any information on Duwin Perez-Cordova's whereabouts.
