According to Newslibrary archives, Jaime Salazar traveled from Guerrero, Mexico to the small town of Cowiche, Washington in Yakima County to see his 19-year old daughter, Odelia Salazar. On March 31, 1995, Jaime approached Odelia and asked her to move back to Mexico with him as his wife. She refused and as a result, Jaime allegedly shot her to death with a shotgun.
According to the Washington State Odyssey Court Records page, an arrest warrant was issued on April 3, 1995 and the records show no movement in the case since 1995.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Yakima County Sheriff's Department at 800-572-0490 if you have any information on Jaime Roman Salazar's whereabouts.

Thoughts? This is a case I originally learned about while going through article records on Newslibrary from the 1990s. I confirmed through the Odyssey Court Records page that Jaime unfortunately was still at large as of this posting date (7/4/2018) with no case movement since 1995 so I looked through the archived Yakima County Sheriff's pages and found a picture of him. As always now with these archived fugitive cases, I will only post them here if I can confirm with 100% certainty that they are still fugitives.
As far as the case itself, it really angers me how Jaime could allegedly kill his own daughter in cold blood, just because she didn't want to become his "wife". It doesn't surprise me unfortunately considering the subject matter of this forum but it's still outrageous since it's the role of a parent to look out for the well-being of their children.
