Additional Information: Nicolas was allegedly abducted by his mother, Marcelle Guimares. Nicolas Brann and Marcelle Guimaraes have been known to frequent the area of Salavador, Bahia, Brazil. Guimaraes has dual citizenships in both the United States and Brazil. Nicolas may also be referred to as "Nico".

"In 2013, Marcelle Guimaraes allegedly took her son Nicolas Scott Brann from the United States and traveled to Brazil. Both mother and son have not returned to the United States.
On March 23, 2017, an arrest warrant for Marcelle Guimaraes was issued in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas, Guimaraes was charged with international parental kidnapping and conspiracy."

Thoughts? Once again this doesn't seem like a "where is he?" missing child case but rather another example of international alleged parental abduction and the frustrating legal process of getting the child back to the parent who was taken from them.
There are a few updates since then:
-In February 2018, Marcelle Guimares' parents, Carlos and Jemima Guimares, were apprehended in Miami International Airport en route to Houston based on charges that they helped in Nicolas's alleged abduction. A trial was held in May where defense attorneys argued that Dr. Dr. Christopher Brann, Nicolas' father, had been abusive. A jury found them guilty of international parental kidnapping. (Although oddly, they acquitted them of conspiracy). Dr. Brann has stated that all he has ever wanted is to have shared custody of Nicolas, and would advocate for maximum leniency for Marcelle should she return him to the United States.
