(Above photo credit: wtok.com via Hinds County Sheriff's Department) From wapt.com: AYMOND, Miss. — A man facing a murder charge has escaped from the Hinds County Detention Center, authorities said. Roddrick Raheem Jones, 23, escaped Wednesday morning, Maj. Pete Luke, with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department said. Advertisement Staff at the detention center last saw Jones at about 6:30 a.m. during breakfast, Luke said. Jones was discovered missing shortly afterward, Luke said. Jones is charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault and as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm in connection with a September 2017 shooting at a Jackson apartment complex. Deputies and U.S. marshals are searching for Jones, Luke said. "We are actively looking for him and we will find him," Sheriff Victor Mason said. Mason couldn't say how Jones escaped. "We all share the blame on this one. I can say without any doubt that we are actively looking for him," Mason said. "It's like the movie 'The Great Escape.' He may have been working on this, but then again, the guards should have been checking." Mason said the detention center has security flaws that the department has tried to address. It's not known if Jones is armed, but Mason said he is considered to be dangerous. Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).www.wapt.com/article/murder-suspect-escapes-from-hinds-county-detention-center/20963218Thoughts?
