I recently thought "wanted in connection with" meant wanted for their role in a crime committed with at least one other suspect and/or as a group. Is there any truth to that?

"wanted in connection" simply means person of interest. Meaning Wiggins has not *officially* been charged with the murder Sgt. Baker but is obviously at the moment the key person of interest and basically the man outright suspected at the moment. It does not mean there is more than one person. (It also doesn't mean there isn't more than one person).

So if "In connection" means "for questioning", can you think of any similar phrases that mean "for one's role in a crime committed as a group"?

News stories have weird wording what can I say.
With all due respect, I'd rather not play word/phrase association games right now as we need to worry about catching Wiggins and getting justice for Sergeant Baker rather than going into tangents.

Just a few updates not only is he possibly facing the death penalty at the state level but at the federal level he had been charged with federal carjacking and firearms charges he has been indicted of 1st degree murder charges abuse of a corpse and arson he goes on trial next year I think In August Erica Castro Miles also faces 1st degree murder charges and could be sentenced to death if convicted but that could probably not happen in her case
