Arenal is wanted out of Berkeley, California for the 2010 rape of a teenage girl who was his neighbour. On the old AMW forum we also feared that this would become another Desiree Lingo-Perkins manhunt. Lingo-Perkins was a murderer whom AMW aired between 2000 and 2004, tips had placed her in Mexico but Mexican authorities needed an exact address before they would go and arrest her. In 2004, AMW tips gave Mexican authorities an address in Nuevo Laredo and she was captured. It seems like it will take an actual address for Mexican authorities to arrest Arenal. It's frustrating since I alluded to this possibility on the old forum. Who would have thought we'd have two captures from that episode (Willie Lorick and John "Tommy" Reardon) and one of them wouldn't be Arenal? I think he's guaranteed another airing in AMW's 26th season based on this. On a lighter note, when I went to vacation in San Francisco- there was a man in a store I went to was the spitting image of Omar Arenal. He even had blonde highlights in his hair and I was relatively close to Berkley. It freaked me out enough that I looked him up online, only to to discover he was actually the head manager and saw all his degrees and experience on LinkedIn. Needless to say it confirmed it was my AMW paranoia again, but at least I was staying alert.  |

I still celebrate them because it's still huge news they're at least detained but not at 100 percent full capacity, then I just cross my fingers afterwards. Mexico's been pretty good lately at sending back AMW/The Hunt/In Pursuit fugitives once they're arrested. (It's the ones where they know where they are but still won't arrest them usually where there's an issue) |

Want to thank our forum reader who let us know Arenal took a plea deal and was sentenced to 40 years. No official links yet but likely soon.
