Taylor Morris Teaford is wanted for the 1969 murder of a woman in a California hotel. I don't believe he was ever profiled on AMW, although I would think he would be in the early days.
In 1969, Teaford and a woman entered the St. Louis Hotel in Oakland, which has since been demolished and replaced with the North Alameda County Jail. While there, police say Teaford beat the woman until she was unrecognizable, and then strangled her with a piece of her own clothing. To this day, the woman remains unidentified. At the time of the murder, Teaford was also wanted for the murder of his grandmother, as well as for shooting his sister and a deputy sheriff during his escape. For some reason, the warrant for his family's shooting was recalled, but he still remains wanted for the murder of the unknown woman. From 1968 to 1972, Teaford was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list, but was removed for unknown reasons.
What do you guys think? Teaford would be in his late 70's today. If alive, my guess is that he's either in jail under an alias, since I doubt he stopped committing crimes, or he's spending the rest of his life as a drifter or a transient. Unfortunately, he literally could be anywhere in the U.S. There's also the matter of the victim. My guess is that she may have been a prostitute or hitchhiker Teaford picked up. Since it's been over 40 years since the murder, I highly doubt she'll ever be identified, since maybe even Teaford didn't even know her real name.
