Age: Approximately 57-58 (As of April 18, 2018, unconfirmed) Photo Credits: Newspapers.com (more info below) -- According to Newspapers.com and references by longtime AMW viewers (on the old FOX AMW forums), Paul Wong is accused of a August 24, 1984 murder in New York City. The victim was Dennis Moran whom he and his wife had allegedly been targeted by Wong in a cat-and-mouse-game while on their motorcycle. Dennis swore at Wong which led Paul to allegedly shoot Dennis to death. Also according to news reports in the early 1990s, Wong is believed to have fled to Fukien Province in China, where he directed the activities of the NYC Green Dragons gang, whom he helped to found. The last reference of this case was in a 1994 news piece where the city of New York profiled 101 of their fugitives in the New York Daily Newspaper. Paul Wong was featured on America's Most Wanted first on November 26, 1989 and was featured on the syndicated Final Justice series that aired in 1995 and 2001. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact New York City Crimestoppers at 800-577-TIPS if you have any information on Paul Wong's whereabouts. Also any news-related updates on this case or vital statistics (height, weight, etc.) can be forwarded to us at amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form ---Thoughts? You could not believe how shocked I was to be browsing through an article on Newspapers.com (that 1994 piece with the 101 NYC fugitives), and finally coming across Paul Wong's picture without even thinking about it beforehand. I feel that he is most likely still at large as of this posting date (4/18/2018) since extradition relations between the US and China haven't improved much at all over the years. Unfortunately there is no court/warrants record page for New York City or New York State like say Florida or Maryland to 100% confirm this case is still active. However I wanted to post this since I know we have a few longtime readers look at this site and they may remember this segment from the early days of AMW.

I wonder how many of the other 100 fugitive cases in the article are now open and closed.
The Paul Wong case stands out with the cold blooded nature of the crime and the good stunt work in the AMW reenactment (Wong's BMW sedan tailgating the motorcycle with the couple riding on it too closely at high speed). Serious road rage.

I wonder how many of the other 100 fugitive cases in the article are now open and closed. Not sure if you've heard us talk about this before catchumall, but in recent years the city of New York has gotten really bad at fugitive publicity. Back from I'd say 1999-2008 (based on web.archive.org searches), they had a decent police page on fugitives across the city. Afterwards the cases they profiled seem to now range to a few recent fugitives, unsolved murders and suspects with sketches or surveillance footage. While profiling the latter types of cases on a local level is not a bad thing at all, it makes researching fugitive cases to profile out of NYC next to impossible. So I would imagine a fair number of those 100 fugitives are still at large to date, but until something changes with NYPD policy, we don't have many answers at the moment.

In regards to NYC and fugitive publicity, I think part of it is statistic-wise, NYC is the safest big city in America. So because they don't have the same problems as say Detroit or Cleveland, they might not feel the need to have a large most wanted listing.
Still there are fugitives wanted for murder from nyc and I do wish they would maintain a most wanted list or at least have the Crime Stoppers website have a most wanted fugitives section. (LAPD also desperately needs to update their most wanted section even though they have one).

Ghost Shadows gang documentary. Paul Wong is mentioned at 16:49. Robert Hu was also profiled on AMW in the 1980s. I think he was never captured but I am not sure. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eweKyyWJ1MA
