From 13abc.com:
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The days haven't gotten any easier for the family of Steven Sattler.
"It's hard on Christmas. It's hard on birthdays. It's hard on every day," said Sattler's aunt Helen McGovern. "Every day is hard, you know?"
On September 13th, 2009, the 24-year-old was found on the front porch of a home on the 300 block of Leland.
Investigators say Sattler was at a party at the home when he was shot and killed shortly after 1:00 a.m.
"He was sitting there on that porch, leaned against the pole," said McGovern. "I couldn't go up to him or do nothing. I just stand [there and look] at him. It was hard."
Wednesday Sattler's family and friends--who nicknamed him "pugs"--gathered outside that home where he was gunned down to honor his memory.
"He was a really, really good guy," said Sattler's cousin Mandy Sattler. "He didn't deserve what he went through, you know?"
To this day, the man's killer has yet to be brought to justice and that sparks nothing but frustration for those who knew him.
"The person who did it is still running free, still running these streets to do it somebody else," said McGovern. "You know, I don't understand."
After nearly a decade of searching for answers, Sattler's loved ones hope someone will come forward and solve his murder once and for all.
"If the person that did it don't come forward, at least somebody that knows something can speak up and tell us a little bit of anything more than what we know now," said Mandy Sattler. "Because we do need justice for our family."
