I think it depends on the format of In Pursuit, if it's John Walsh presenting as opposed to commenting, he should bring Callahan to help introduce the cases as well, if the format is like The Hunt's it would be hard to include both.
There does seem to be indications Callahan will take over fugitive chasing once Walsh retires, in either the capacity of continuing In Pursuit or otherwise.

Well we did mention other contenders other than Callahan to host some crime show though that was before The Hunt was cancelled.

Well we've talked in the past about AMW, The Hunt, and Unsolved Mysteries. If I get around to it tonight I'll make it a thread about In Pursuit the day Walsh retires.
Each of these shows is unique in it's own way and what would work as a host for some wouldn't work for others. (Imagine flipping Robert Stack and John Walsh as AMW/Unsolved Mysteries hosts for example- I just can't picture either hosting the other's show).
But we'll worry about when the time comes.

Wish we could see a preview of this to see what the format would be like.
As much as I liked AMW, I could not get into The Hunt. The format of the show was too similar to something like Joe Kenda's show.

I get a feeling since it's the same production company, the format will be similar. Season 1 I wasn't sure but eventually I got used to and started to love the format, but I understand it's not for everyone.

Is that when the show will debut on T.V. or is that when filming begins?

I thought he meant when he returns.

Just to let everyone know, I'll probably be making an "upcoming in season 1" thread in the next few weeks. (Please wait for me to make the thread, I'll do it when I feel the timing is right). I've already learned some of the cases but I don't want to alert the fugitive so unless there's a public article confirming a case and/or someone wants it to be known, I will not reveal what I've found out until when the ID channel advertises the case around airing time. (Assuming they do it the same way CNN didn with The Hunt).
One is a new recent case, one is a cold case AMW fugitive from the 1990's and the other has previously been aired on Crime Watch Daily (which admittedly narrows it down, but I didn't say who and there's a few guys on there who would be fits for the show).
I still wanted to make a formal thread though once it gets closer to airing time.
Show is still scheduled to air in Q1 of 2019.

The 90s AMW Fugitive already sounds like it’s going to be a good first season of “In Pursuit” and in general that whole description has me excited alone lol.

Any guesses as to when ID will start doing promo commercials for In Pursuit and most importantly make a show website for the new series?

By the way, I forgot whether they specified a precise date for the series premiere. Knowing that The Hunt premiered 2 Sundays after Half Year's, on 7-13-014, I'm guessing that In Pursuit will premiere 2 Sundays after New Year's, on 1-13-019. Is there any truth to that?

Unfortunately no premiere date as of yet, just sometime in January. I suspect judging by the previous air dates of AMW and The Hunt, it will be on a weeknight. Whether that's Friday, Saturday or Sunday could be important in getting access to more viewers.

As I said in the "upcoming" thread, all I know are four cases so far that will be profiled, additional information such as day of airing, airing date format (although it *looks* like 'Hunt' format) etc... are unknown.
It would make more sense for "In Pursuit" to air on a weeknight if it debuts in January, considering they'd be going up against the NFL playoffs/Super Bowl otherwise and unlike CNN which only had the weekends for new shows, ID channel is open for crime programming 7 nights a week. That being said, Sunday is usually a night most networks want to debut a show.
