From The Denver Post website:
Some of Jeremy Martinez’ friends called him Ju Ju Bear.
Others had just nicknamed him “Bubblicious” after he told them, “I come in different flavors baby.”
Jeremy Martinez
He was funny, happy and had a flair that attracted a lot of friends.
He was only 14 when he rode in a car with four friends and was shot to death.
Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, a green SUV pulled up next to the car Martinez was in on eastbound Interstate-70 near the Pecos Street exit.
A passenger in the SUV pointed a hand gun out his window and fired two shots.
One bullet flew into the packed car and struck Martinez in the head.
The suspect car sped away. No one in the car has ever been held accountable for what happened nearly 14 years ago.
Martinez was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and treated. The next day on Sunday morning he was pronounced dead.
The boy had been a 9th grader at Millennium Quest Science and Medicine High School, one of three small schools on the Manual High School complex.
Police soon learned from the other boys in the car that they had all just been at a 7-Eleven at 44th Avenue and Federal Boulevard when several males confronted the boys inside the store.
The boys left the store and drove onto I-70. The suspects apparently followed the car Martinez was in onto the freeway.
Following his murder, staff members at his school set up a shrine.

Thoughts? This case is horrible and beyond tragic. The above article is from 2015, but the murder of Jeremy Martinez is still listed on the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) website as an unsolved homicide as of March 12th, 2018.
