From Tennesseean.com:
Samantha Woodson dabbed her eyes with a white piece of tissue.
As she dried tears from her face, Woodson began to describe what it was like to watch her nephew Trevor Armstrong grow up and become a father before he was murdered in 2017.
Armstrong, 22, from Columbia, was found in a rural area of Williamson County near the Maury County line in the early morning hours on Aug. 17. He had been shot to death in the driveway of a home on Sugar Ridge Road.
"There hasn’t been any movement forward," said Woodson, who was wearing a red shirt in honor of Armstrong. "We’ve been taking every day one day at a time. Two plus two isn’t equaling four in this equation. It’s not even real, and I can’t fathom in my head how something like this can happen. He didn’t live the type of lifestyle this would happen."
WCSO criminal investigators said they wanted more information about Armstrong during the hours before he was fatally shot. Authorities said Armstrong had been disabled since he was in junior high and used a wheelchair and a cane. Armstrong also didn't drive.
"He wouldn’t have hurt a fly," Woodson said. "Why did it have to result into a murder? With his disability, he couldn’t have hurt you anyways. I want to understand why. He couldn’t run from whoever was there."
Detectives said they were trying to determine how he got to the location where his body was found and why he was there.
"It’s not normal," WCSO Detective Melissa Colvin said. "No one can heal if I am texting with them every two weeks asking more questions. That’s why we are asking for help."
