DESCRIPTION:
On June 9, 2001, Galacia-Vasquez was drinking with coworkers at the Longbranch Saloon in Mount Vernon,
WA, and had an argument with coworker Francisco B. Reyes; however, they and the other coworkers later
left in Galacia-Vasquez's vehicle to return to their migrant work camp. During the ride home, Galacia-
Vasquez and Reyes again argued; Reyes exited the vehicle and began walking along Kamb Road in Skagit
County WA. Galacia-Vasquez continued on to the camp where he dropped off the other coworkers. It is
believed Galacia-Vasquez then re-traced Reyes' path and purposely struck Reyes with his car. Reyes was
left behind, and died after the collision.
On June 12, 2001, Galacia-Vasquez's car was found hidden in a remote location in Clackamas County, OR.
Detectives retrieved the vehicle, found it was cleaned and washed inside and out; the VIN plates had been
removed or defaced; and the license plates were missing. The warrant is for Felony Hit and Run -Death,
but the investigation may result in homicide charges.
