From The Charley Project:
Harmon was last seen in Monticello, Arkansas on January 6, 2015. He went squirrel hunting behind his house, carrying a 20-gauge shotgun, at 1:00 p.m. He told his parents he would be back by the time his children came home from school, but he never returned and has never been heard from again. His family reported him missing at 7:00 p.m. During an extensive search of the area, searchers found spent shotgun shells and a partial pack of cigarettes believed to be Harmon's, as well as human footprints, but there was no indication of his whereabouts.
Harmon is an experienced hunter. His family initially thought he was been attacked by a wild animal; big animals including black bears and large cats live in the area where he was hunting. Now, however, they believe he met with foul play. Although he did occasionally drink alcohol and smoke marijuana, they don't think drugs or alcohol were a factor in his disappearance.
In January 2017, two years after Harmon's disappearance, a hunter found his hunting vest lying on the ground near Harmon's home. The vest was very dirty and appeared to have been exposed to the elements for a long time. The finding prompted another search of the area, but no additional evidence was uncovered. Harmon is presumed deceased and his case remains unsolved.
