(Above photo credit: Navarro County (Texas) Sheriff's Office website) Fugitive Profile as of January 17th, 2018: (Based on Navarro County Texas Sheriff's Office website) SEX: Male DOB: 1967-07-18 Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Height: 5'8" Weight: 150 lbs Race: Hispanic Who to call if you've seen him: Navarro County Sheriff's Office at (903)-654-3001From the Texas Council on Family Violence Website: Veronica Bertadillo (Garcia), 24 Residence: Dawson June 8, 2000 She was stabbed to death by her estranged husband, Manuel Bertadillo, 38. After the attack, he took their 2-year-old son and fled the scene. A few hours later he left the child with friends and disappeared. Police believe he is in Mexico. tcfv.org/pdf/womenkilled/2000.pdf (scroll down for case) www.ncsotx.org/wanted_view.php?id=3Thoughts? As of 1/17/2018, Bertadillo is still listed as one of the Navarro County Texas Sheriff's Office's Most Wanted fugitives on their website: www.ncsotx.org/mobile/wanted.phpI wish I was able to find more information but at least was able to find that snippet from that Texas Council on Family Violence website. They saw Dawson County and not Navarro County but Dawson is the name of a town in that county, so that's probably where Veronica was allegedly stabbed to death by Manuel. Still a sad story and the fact that the 2-year old had to grow up without his mother. (He would just be around 20 this year based on his age at that time) Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

As of today, July 5, 2021, Manuel Araiza Bertadillo is still on the Navarro County Most Wanted page.
I also agree that it's very tragic that Veronica's son had to grow up without his mother.

Bertadillo is our case of the week for this week. While he is still wanted in Texas, I fear this is a hiding in plain sight since I checked PACER and there is no UFAP federal warrant found there despite the above article saying he's likely hiding in Mexico.
I hope authorities can see how tragic a case this is and work to get an extradition going.
