From wiat.com:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Right now-, there are over 60 unsolved homicides in Birmingham for 2017. Many families are looking for answers.
Johnny and Ajah Turner want to know what happened to their little sister, Tekia Turner. She was killed on May 18, 2017, while sitting in a car outside of a gas station in Birmingham.
Police say she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This isn't how the two expected to celebrate the New Year - at their little sister's grave.
"She never missed a holiday. We may have not spoken much but she always came around every holiday," cried Tekia's sister Ajah.
But this holiday, her absence is on everyone's mind.
"It still doesn't make sense now. We just let the police do what they need to in terms of finding out what's going on," Johnny Turner, Tekia's older brother said. "But as a family, we want answers to what is going on."
It's been 7 months since Tekia, who was 21-years-old at the time, was shot and killed. The big question that still remains is, who shot her?
"It kind of makes you mad because someone knows something and they're just not talking," said Johnny Turner.
Tekia's family is not the only one without answers.
"I mean, that just pushes Tekia's further down and to the right because she was like number 47. 24, to 47, to 64 unsolved homicides. That's crazy," said Johnny.
Johnny and Ajah described their little sister as energetic, outspoken, and someone who just had a great spirit about her. They know nothing can ever bring her back, but they hope they can at least make sense of what happened.
"As a family, we want answers to what is going on. We have questions to ask and we just waiting on something to break and you know, we pray about it every night," Johnny said. "We pray family that believes in God so I know it'll come out sooner or later," said Johnny.
The family is pleading for anyone with information to come forward. If you have any information, you are asked to call Birmingham Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 205-254-7777.

Thoughts? I realize there's not the most to work with here but I know from my years covering crime stories that there is always or often someone who knows about a case but doesn't speak up. Hopefully there is such a person that can break the case wide open. If so, it's up to them to think about what if it was their daughter, sister, friend, etc... and come forward.
