From Jacksonville.com:
BRUNSWICK, GA. | A former corrections officer who absconded from his trial in Atlanta where he was convicted of statutory rape may be in Glynn County where he has family, police said.
The U.S. Marshals Service is seeking Charles Barry Pinckney, 26, who had been a corrections officer in DeKalb County and was on trial in Fulton County when he didn’t appear for the final day of his trial, according to news reports.
Pinckney was charged with rape, statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and first-degree cruelty to children for having sex with a 15-year-old runaway. He was accused of picking up the girl, taking her to his home and raping her. He claimed the runaway said she was 19 and that the sex was consensual, but the girl suffered serious injuries.
The jury convicted Pinckney of statutory rape and failed to reach a verdict on the three other charges.
The Fulton County Superior Court judge, who instructed the jury to not consider Pinckney’s absence, revoked his bond, issued an arrest warrant and declared a mistrial on three other charges, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The judge sentenced Pinckney to 45 years on the single charge, and the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force is trying to find him. Pinckney has immediate family in Glynn County and the task force has credible information he is the Brunswick-Glynn County area, according to a news release.
He is six-feet, one-inch tall, weighs 180 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair, according to a wanted flyer in that also says he is armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts may call the task force at (770) 508-2500 or an investigator at (404) 520-4534. Those with information may also call the Glynn Brunswick 911 center at (912) 554-3645 or the Silent Witness line at (912) 264-1333.

Thoughts? The above article is from a Jacksonville, Florida website but I'm assuming that's because of its (and Florida's) proximity to Georgia and/or Glynn County. Obviously it seems Pinckney is believed to be hiding South somewhere. But also of course anyone should send in a tip regardless of where they think they've spotted him. I see no articles since November 2017, but considering this is a somewhat high-profile case, I'm just going to assume that Pinckney is still at large as of this posting date (1/14/2018). If anyone has any updates though, please feel free to let us know.
