According to Newslibrary archives, software designer Chen Li had briefly dated engineer Lin Duan in Houston, but Lin had broken off the relationship. Authorities say that's when Chen began to stalk Lin, phoning her repeatedly and leaving her notes. On Jan 2, 1995, Chen allegedly went up to Lin in a car after she had celebrated her birthday and shot her to death. He allegedly then went to the other side of the vehicle and shot and wounded her friend.
Chen was arrested but was let out on $50,000 bond. He failed to appear for his trial in October of 1995 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Thoughts? I checked and Li is an extremely common surname in China, so I fear that Chen may have fled overseas to China where he would be untouchable right now. It would explain why he's been on the run for 22 years.
Also the Harris County Court Records page didn't have a case file for Chen Li so this case hasn't gone to trial yet and he was not previously arrested. That means I don't have any vital stats (height, weight, etc.) so if anyone has access to that information, then please post here or send it through our website contact form.
