Photo Credits: Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department DOB: 5/1/1996 Sex: M Race: White Height: 5’7 Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Weight: 165 lbs POB: Cuba -- In July of 2015, authorities in Palm Beach County say that Marcos Gutierrez and Saul Retana Lopez went to the home of Dr. Ronald Schwartz. Dr. Schwartz's bedroom had been ransacked, his unusual $20 bills, two rings and jewelry were later recovered at Saul's home. Saul had originally wanted to confront Dr. Schwartz about getting his job back since he had been fired shortly beforehand. Dr. Schwartz shot Saul in the arm during the confrontation and that's when Marcos allegedly shot Dr. Schwartz to death. A witness quoted to detectives that Marcos called them after the murder, saying he had done something stupid in Jupiter and was going back to Cuba. Saul was arrested shortly after the murder. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department at 561-688-3000 if you have any information on Marcos Yanes Gutierrez's whereabouts.
Moderator Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form-- Thoughts? If Marcos is still in Cuba then it's not optimistic he's getting extradited from there any time soon since that's where he was born. We can only hope that over time he slips up and travels back to the US or elsewhere in the Caribbean. www.pbso.org/category/most-wanted/page/2/www.miamiherald.com/news/local/crime/article53156330.html

Sometimes a fugitive will go they're saying somewhere to throw people off. William Greer told people he was going to Canada and wound up in Mexico, for example.
Of course the difference here is Gutierrez is actually from Cuba, so he may not have been bluffing.
Let's hope he didn't go there and went somewhere else where he can be caught.

For some reason unlike most Florida counties, Palm Beach County's fugitives often don't show up on Florida's public access wamted persons search site (which is usually very current and accurate).
However, the official Palm Beach County page on Gutierrez says his warrant was confirmed as of 11/14/2017. That is still relatively recent so I feel it is still safe to assume that he is still at large as of this update. (7/7/2018).
Of course, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.

Unusual update- Gutierrez did flee to Cuba but a deal was made where he would be tried in the Cuban court system- he was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Although I'm disappointed it wasn't a harsher punishment, usually fugitives in Cuba get away entirely scott-free so with this and the recent arrest of Joseph Dibee I guess you can look at the glass half-full somewhat. www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/cuba/article216665545.html
