Photo Credits: Crime Stoppers Of Tarrant County Age: Approximately 40-41 -- On October 22, 2017, Hashem was working as an Uber driver when he picked up an elderly woman on her way back home from church. They went in the direction of her home in Fort Worth, Texas when Hashem allegedly raped her. The woman said that afterwards, Hashem drove her the rest of the way home. Authorities fear that Hashem has since fled the United States. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477 if you have any information on Hashem Ramezanpour's whereabouts.Moderator Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form --Thoughts? I checked and it appears that "Ramezanpour" is a last name of Iranian descent. Historically there's been no extraditions between the US and Iran and due to the recent protests going on over there, now isn't the time for any improvements. Hopefully over time something changes or Hashem travels back to the US or another country. www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Transportation-App-Driver-Accused-of-Sex-Assault-in-Fort-Worth-Police-460362413.html469tips.com/most-wanted

I became recently aware of this case as well and I know I'm about to go off on several tangents here- but with New Year's Eve being last night and all, this is something that frustrates me- I've stated on this forum that there's nothing wrong with going out and having a good time but that if you feel too drunk, be responsible, don't drink and drive- go home with a designated driver, take a taxi and/or use a ride-sharing app. I still feel that way but the problem is unfortunately sometimes people do follow the advice and then get Hashem for their Uber driver. (I realize the alleged victim here was an elderly woman- but I feel the analogy still sort of works).
So this case is just really unfortunate as Uber is supposed to be a safe alternative to taxis but has run in to controversy, and one of the criticisms is alleged lax background checks (their license was taken away in London).
As for Hashem, hopefully he hasn't fled to Iran but unfortunately it seems to be what authorities fear at the moment.

Well my wish came true and Hashem did travel back to the US. Thank goodness for airport customs checks.
