I’ve been covering this story, since it started with the military deploying itself throughout the capital Zimbabwean, Harare last week and now I’m happy to post that Robert Mugabe, the President of Zimbabwe since 1987 has resigned marking the nail in the coffin of a dictator and the start better and brighter beginning for Zimbabwe. Mugabe is a very controversial figure in modern times, he fought in the countries war of independence, but once in power as prime minister and later president, Mugabe was an unrepenting tyrant, who committed gross human rights violations and overstayed his tenure. Any thoughts?? either way it’s a jubilant moment for Zimbabwe mobile.nytimes.com/2017/11/21/world/africa/zimbabwe-mugabe-mnangagwa.html?referer=https://www.google.com/

His straight supremacist nationalism earlier in the decade was just one of countless problems the world has had with Mugabe. I saw him as a dangerous criminal, and my intuition says that he made this a little easier on himself by handing in his resignation before he could risk life and limb with a coup or something similar. Most other dictators perpetrating similar crimes, I imagine, would face life in a planetary prison in The Hague if caught and convicted. I also don't know much about the history of any particular African country, but Mugabe is over 9 decades old, so I doubt he has much longer to live.

Mugabe was pretty much pushed into a corner to resign after the military coup last week as they wanted to give Mugabe the chance to leave power in a dignified manner and make the transition smooth, so it won’t seem like an average African continent coup. Also especially at 93 and in poor health, Mugabe doesn’t have too much longer, and he’ll pay for his crimes in his remaining days or in the next life. Hate and Tyranny has resigned the nation of Zimbabwe today.
