Photo Credits: Shafter Police Department Newspaperarchive.com had some additional information on this case. The victim, 16-year old Marco Polo Rocha was a rival gang member from nearby Wasco, California who was in Shafter with a few other people. Ramon and some of his fellow local Shafter gang members then allegedly went up to the Wasco gang members while they were in a car, blocked their exit with their own vehicle and stabbed Marco to death. Ramon's alleged accomplices were arrested and convicted by the end of 1993. Like other hispanic fugitives out of California who have been on the run for around this long, they tend to either be hiding out in Latin America or travel back and forth in and out of California. I want to commend the Shafter Police Department for including this cold case fugitive on their Most Wanted page when a lot of law enforcement agencies nowadays don't tend to include cases this old. www.shafter.com/184/Shafters-Most-Wanted

Unfortunately, Marco Rocha was yet another victim of that in life.

Just wanted to add that according to newspaperarchive.com, Ramon was actually arrested initially for Marco's murder. However, he was mistakenly released from prison on a narcotics charge. *sigh* As a result of that mistake, Ramon has allegedly gotten away with the murder of a 16-year old for over 25 years. newspaperarchive.com/shafter-press-jun-16-1993-p-1/ (Click arrow next to "show article text")
