Fugitive Profile as of August 30th, 2014 (Based on Texas 10 Most Wanted website): RACE: Asian SEX: Male DOB: 06/08/70 HEIGHT: 5'04" WEIGHT: 150 lbs. AKA: Ngoc Van Tarn, Vannogc Tran, Van Tran Scars/Marks/Tattoos: Tattoo on left arm; Mole on right cheek; Discoloration on face. Who to call if you've seen him: Texas Crime Stoppers 1-800-252-TIPS or submit a web tip by clicking on this link: www.tipsubmit.com/WebTipsCSI.aspx?L=E&AgencyID=650&Fugitive=Ngoc%20%20Van%20TranNgoc Van Tran is wanted out of Texas on a murder warrant. He was aired in 2009 on AMW (I believe it was 15 SOS) and was also featured on Unsolved Mysteries. From 1989 to 1996, Tran had been arrested on drug, burglary, larceny and assault charges. In September 1996 while on parole, Tran was dining with his wife Mildred Packer. Mildred was last seen arguing with Tran after Tran had threatened to kill her in the past. In October 1996, Mildred's body was discovered in the trunk of a car outside an Amarillo, Texas apartment complex. She had been shot in the head. Tran was charged with Mildred's murder. Thoughts? His archived AMW.com profile mentions that authorities believed he was trafficking drugs in Texas and Mexico. He has also worked in a meat processing plant and could be working in a restaurant. He also speaks Spanish. I feel that he fled to Mexico after killing Mildred and continued working in the drug trade but may have gotten out at some point considering he's been wanted for 17 years. www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/stillWantedDetails.aspx?id=213unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Ngoc_Van_Tran

It's going to be hard to find him if he's working as a cook or dishwasher as described wherever he is- since he'd be in the back of the restaurant away from people (some AMW fugitives such as Kenneth Lovci and Asgar Ali were busted as chefs- but they also were part of two of the most incredible coincidences in AMW history).
In any case, I think Mexico is a strong possibility.

A few more details have come in on Tran's capture, apparently he was actually arrested in 2012! "Marshals began working to obtain a provisional arrest warrant, a type of international extradition warrant, Brewer said. Tran was arrested in June of 2012 and has been fighting extradition ever since. After his appeals in Mexico ran out, Marshals from Dallas went into Mexico to bring him back to Potter County. Tran had become involved in a major drug trafficking operation while in Mexico, Brewer said. He declined to reveal exactly where Tran was arrested for fear of disrupting ongoing investigations in the region. Tran is being held in Potter County jail on charges of murder, evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle, and a parole violation on original charges of burglary of a habitation and delivery of a controlled substance, records show." Also, we have a capture mugshot! amarillo.com/news/local-news/2014-11-21/police-capture-amarillo-murder-suspect-lam-18-yearswww.connectamarillo.com/news/photos.aspx?id=1126285#.VG_tdvnF-So
